Judging for PRSA-OKC Upper Case Awards is based on a 100 point scoring scale with points given in four categories – research, planning, implementation and evaluation (each worth 25 points). Below are questions to answer and information to include when preparing a winning entry. The number one reason entries are disqualified is that the summaries do not address all criteria listed and/or that one or more of the four sections are incomplete. Please review your entry carefully to comply with the requirements.

Members of another PRSA chapter will serve as judges for components and programs. PRSA-OKC requires two members judge each entry and one member MUST have at least five years experience or their APR distinction.

Tactics and Elements
Entries should include a One-Page Summary: A concise summary no longer than one page must be uploaded as a PDF. The one-page summary is the single most important component of a Tactical Award entry. Please also include a 100-word description of the entry and a photographic representation that will be used during the Upper Case Awards.

  • Judging Criteria: Judges evaluate the entry on four key areas —planning/content, creativity/quality, technical excellence and results. (Media relations categories are not judged on technical excellence.) Within these areas, the summary should include measurable objectives, target audiences, budget and any other specific information requested in the individual category. Results — qualitative, quantitative or both — should provide evidence of how the stated measurable objectives were met, and how the entry impacted the success of a broader or ongoing program.
  • Supporting Materials: Entrants will be asked to upload supporting documents and back-up materials as requested in each individual category, e.g., PDFs, videos, audio, video links, website URLs, etc.
  • Uploaded documents must be uploaded as PDFs. Pages should be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches with a minimum of 10-point typeface and one-inch margins.

Please note: Criteria closely follows that of the national PRSA Bronze Anvil Awards.

STRATEGIC CAMPAIGNS

Entries should include a Two-Page Summary. The two-page summary (to be uploaded as a PDF) is the single-most important component of a Strategic Campaign entry. It should begin with a brief situation analysis for your program, followed by addressing each of the four entry criteria — insights and analysis, planning, execution and evaluation. Please also include a 100-word description of the entry and a photographic representation that will be used during the Upper Case Awards.

Entries will be judged on

  • Insights and Analysis - What type of methods, strategies, and tools were implemented? What type of research did you use?
  • Planning - How did the plan correlate to the insights gathered at the end of the campaign? What was the plan in general terms? What were the specific measurable objectives? Who were the target audiences? What was the overall strategy? What was the budget?
  • Execution - How much of the plan was executed? How did activities flow? What were the key tactics? How did you handle any difficulties along the way? Who else was involved? Were other tactics used such as advertising? Unless this campaign is entered in "Integrated Communications," advertising costs should not exceed one-third of the budget.
  • Evaluation - What methods were used? What were the results? How did results compare to objectives? How well do the results reflect the original strategy and planning?

Please note: Criteria closely follow that used for the national PRSA Silver Anvil Awards.

EXPERIMENTAL CATEGORIES
